Section is an urban research; a recording of specific journey within the city. This journey, entirely on foot, traces an artificial trajectory - a straight line drawn on a map - that began in the East and concluded in the West.Whilst Section is concerned with mapping, or recording, it is not a map in the conventional sense: although it orientates, navigation is impossible as just one single passage is recorded - that of its mapmaker, the pedestrian-observer. The walking stick being supplanted by the Memory Stick. |
